"While St. Mechtilde was beseeching the glorious Virgin to assist her in her hour of death, Our Lady appeared to her and said: 'I will certainly. But I also want you to say three special Hail Mary's to me every day.

"'The first will be in honor of God the Father, Whose omnipotence raised my soul so high above every other creature that after God I have the greatest power in heaven and on earth. In the hour of your death I will use that power of God the Father to keep any hostile power far from you.
"''The second Hail Mary will be said in honor of the Son of God Who communicated His inscrutable wisdom to me. In the hour of your death I will fill your soul with the light of that wisdom so that all the darkness of ignorance and error will be dispelled.

All Orthodox Roman Catholics must know and believe:

(2) The Ten Commandments of God;

(3)The Precepts of the Church;

(4) The Doctrine of the seven Sacraments , and especially these three--Baptism, Penance, and the Holy Eucharist;

(5) The duties and obligations of one's state of life.

is a mortal sin for a Christian to be ignorant of these things, if it be through his own willfulness or neglect.

"Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart of Jesus"
If you Consecrate Yourself and Family.........Sacred Heart of Jesus promises:

1. I will give them all the graces necessary to their state of life.

2. I will establish peace in their homes.

3. I will comfort them in all their afflictions.

4. I will be their secure refuge in life and above all in death.

5. I will bestow a large blessing upon all their undertakings.

6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and the infinite ocean of My Mercy.

7. Tepid souls shall grow fervent.

8. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.

9. I will bless every place where a picture of My Heart shall be set up and honored.

10. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.

11. Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart never to be blotted out.

12. I promise you in the excessive Mercy of My Heart that My all powerful Love will grant to all those who communicate on the first Friday in nine consecutive months the grace of final penitence; they shall not die in My Disgrace nor without receiving their sacraments; My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.

PERSEVERE TOWARD HOLINESS

The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, and the beginning of Lent is probably the holiest season of the liturgical year. Lost Lents are bad things for one’s soul. The secular spirit of the day or the infidel spirit mocks everything that is holy, without expressing outward infidelities, which has become a kind of unprofessed belief of sinners. This secular spirit, so sacred to many, gives no consideration of sacred seasons and sacred ceremonies, consequently, we should cherish these times of the liturgical year all the more.

It is an essential part of the Catholic faith, this season of Lent and all of its ceremonies, especially that of receiving ashes which becomes an outward sign to the world of one’s Catholic character. This Catholic character can be seen in those who have worldly or secular positions in society but yet are not afraid to exhibit their Catholic character i.e.
Thomas More while he was Chancellor of the English realm. Thomas More was loyal to his sovereign the King, nevertheless openly put God first on all occasions his sterling character was challenged: for example, his conscientious fulfillment of all the duties of his state of life, no matter how large or how small and insignificant.
