GREGORY THE GREAT AND FALSE ECUMENISM

Pope Gregory the Great did battle against the Patriarch of Constantinople who wanted to establish his domination over Rome  and who called himself the "ecumenical bishop"  in the sense of being a king or the universal bishop over the whole world.

Gregory vehemently renounced the word "ecumenical" as referring to himself as the "ecumenical bishop of Rome,"  for the title he chose instead was "servus servorum deorum" (servant of the servants of God);  all because the Patriarch "John the Faster" wanted to use "ecumenical" in the sense of "universal"  in order to steal the prerogative and influence of the Bishop of Rome, the universal Father of Christendom.

Thereafter, every pope following 'Pope Gregory the Great' used the titles:  "Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the universal Church, and King and Magistrate of the Roman Province and (since 1929) Sovereign of the State of the City of the Vatican."

Thus,  Gregory the Great ever so adroitly ended all

Thus,  Gregory the Great ever so adroitly ended all debate as to the exact identity of all orthodox Roman Catholic pontiffs thereafter, for Gregory the Great specified precisely what he represented, especially as Christ our Lord's chosen representative on earth as Vicar of Christ till Our Lord's Return and the supreme leader or pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.  'Gregory the Great' vehemently rejected using some ambiguous, unidentifiable nomenclature as implied by the misnomer 'ecumenical'  which the heretic Patriarch of Constantiople, John the Faster, was relying upon  to establish  his own suzerainty by an illegitimate grasp for power and
authority not his own.

No pope can surrender his title as pontiff over the orthodox Roman Catholic Church for any ecumenical gains of creating a more universal one- world- religion church which secular liberals and today's modernist heretics within the church advocate  to replace the one true faith as handed down by Peter and His successors since Christ Our Lord established His Church--the one and only true Church He established and that will last till His Second Coming and which the "gates of Hell shall not prevail against."

How we must pray for and defend the current Vicar of Christ and Pontiff of the orthodox Roman Catholic Church who recently ventured forth so bravely into the jaws of Islam, clinging to his cross of Jesus Christ as he prayed for the peaceful conversion of Islam inside the "Hagia Sophia" Islamic Church-- a stolen Christian Church-- on his trip to Turkey.           What a true follower of the spirit of Pope Gregory the Great, who condemned all false 'ecumenism' and false religion, is our current pontiff, Benedict XVI.

We must pray for him in these gallant endeavors of defending and evangelizing the orthodox Roman Catholic faith.  Let us all pray to the Prince of Peace Himself and His Mother Mary to protect him.
